1. On-Device Processing

All translations, OCR (optical character recognition), and speech recognition run locally on your device. We do not transmit your text, photos, or voice recordings to any external server.

2. Data Storage

OffLingua stores the following data locally on your device:

• Chat history in a local SQLite database
• Photo thumbnails and extracted OCR text
• Language preferences and settings

This data never leaves your device and can be deleted at any time via Settings.

3. Model Download

The AI translation model is downloaded once from Hugging Face (huggingface.co). This is a one-time download of the model files only. No translation content, user data, or personal information is sent during or after the download.

4. Third-Party Services

• Hugging Face: Used solely for hosting and downloading the AI model files. No user data is transmitted.
• Apple Speech Recognition: Voice input uses Apple's on-device speech recognition when available. For some languages, Apple may use server-based recognition. See Apple's privacy policy for details.

5. Data We Do NOT Collect

• Your translations or text input
• Your photos or camera content
• Your voice recordings
• Your location
• Device identifiers for tracking
• Usage analytics

6. GDPR Rights (EU Users)

Since all data is stored locally on your device and we do not collect personal data, you have full control over your information. To delete all data:

Settings → Clear All Conversations

Or simply delete the app to remove all associated data.

7. Children's Privacy

OffLingua does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The app is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
