By downloading, installing, or using OffLingua ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and the Gemma Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

2. Service Description

OffLingua provides offline AI-powered translation using the TranslateGemma model from Google DeepMind. All processing occurs locally on your device. The App supports text, photo (OCR), and voice input across 55 languages.

3. Gemma Terms of Use

The AI model used in this App is subject to the Gemma Terms of Use from Google. By using OffLingua, you also agree to comply with these terms.

Key points from the Gemma Terms:

• The model is provided for research and development purposes
• You may not use the model for illegal or harmful activities
• You may not use the model to generate misleading or deceptive content
• Google retains all rights to the underlying model

4. Permitted Use

You may use OffLingua for:

• Personal translation needs
• Travel and communication assistance
• Learning and educational purposes
• General reference translations

5. Prohibited Use

You may not use OffLingua for:

• Legal, medical, or safety-critical translations without professional verification
• Generating content that violates laws or regulations
• Reverse engineering or extracting the AI model
• Any purpose that violates the Gemma Terms of Use

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP AND TRANSLATIONS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR ACCURACY OF TRANSLATIONS.

Do not rely on translations for:

• Legal documents or contracts
• Medical diagnoses or prescriptions
• Emergency or life-critical situations
• Official government or legal proceedings

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, R&D COPILOT SRL SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES FROM INACCURATE TRANSLATIONS.

8. Open Source Components

OffLingua uses the following open source components:

• llama.cpp (MIT License)
• llama.swift (MIT License)
• TranslateGemma (Gemma Terms)

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Romania. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Iași, Romania.
